I was born in a small suburb in upstate New York. I'm one of six children of a middle class family with a working Dad and a stay at home Mom. As you can imagine life was never dull in our house.
I've had a love for all things romantic from the very first time I snuck one of my mother's Harlequin© romance novels from her bookshelf at the tender age of twelve. And I've been reading and enjoying romance ever since.
Eight years ago I moved to the Pacific Northwest from my hometown because I fell in love with the movie Sleepless in Seattle. The idea of two people finding love while living over 3,000 miles apart was awe-inspiring. Yeah I'm a hopeless romantic at heart. After that, I just knew I wanted to live in Seattle, so I drew up a plan and saved my pennies and when I felt I had enough to start fresh, I packed up my son and trekked 3,000 miles from the east coast to the west coast, and now here I am - well not exactly living in Seattle but very close.
Its many years later since I picked up my first romance novel and I find myself more interested in wanting to create my own sexy romance stories than reading them. So I joined the Romance Writers' of America, sought out a local chapter to join and have started on a new path in my life.
When I'm not typing away at my trusty laptop trying to get that next great scene down before it disappears forever, I can be found cheering in the stands at my son's basketball games - GO WA WARRIORS!
I'm a single mom of a very athletically active teenager (and right there says it all). I also work full-time as a secretary for a local government municipality (is it a wonder I get any writing done at all?).
When I'm having a particularly hard time with a scene or a character I put the story away and relax with one of my many knitting projects. Knitting helps me to not dwell on the difficulty I'm having with my writing and allows my mind to be completely free of clutter. Once that happens, I find that my scene or character becomes more clear to me and then I'm able to jump back in and get the scene or character back on track.
I've always got one or two or three knitting projects in the works for one family member or another and since I have 3 nieces, 6 nephews, 4 sisters and one brother, there is always something I'm creating for someone at any given time througout the year (check out my knitting projects page for some of those creations).
